Caramelized onions (Cipolline caramellate)


1 bag of small onions
tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
pinch of salt
2 tablespoons of water ( if need)
3 tablespoos balsamic vinegar

In a large pan, melt the butter in the oil, then add the onions and let themto brown for about 10 minutes.
Then add salt, sugar and balsamic vinegar, mix and e eventually add 1 tablespoon of water ( or more if need).
Let everything cook until the sugar is like caramel and onion are medium soft.
